On 1 December 2025, the Erasmus+ project SHIFT: From Solo to Startup Success officially kicked off in Kaunas, Lithuania, marking the beginning of an inspiring collaboration under the Small-scale partnerships in youth (KA210-YOU) action.
The kick-off meeting brought together representatives from three committed partner organisations:
KLUB PODJETNIŠKEGA GIBANJA EMC (Slovenia) – Project Coordinator
ASOCIACIJA AKTYVISTAI (Lithuania) – Partner
EDUMANSHA – Associação para o Aprendizado Contínuo para as Demandas do Século XXI (Portugal) – Partner
During the meeting, partners aligned their vision, clarified responsibilities, and mapped out the next steps — including the research phase, dissemination strategy, and implementation framework. The atmosphere reflected both strategic focus and strong shared motivation to create meaningful impact for young people across Europe.
Across Europe, many young freelancers, migrants, NEET individuals, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds find themselves in unstable and low-growth forms of self-employment. While freelancing often provides short-term income, it rarely guarantees long-term professional stability, business scalability, or economic resilience.
SHIFT addresses this widespread challenge.
The project is designed to support young self-employed individuals in transitioning from solo freelancing to building structured, sustainable startups — empowering them not only to stabilize their own careers but to become potential job creators in their communities.
